1.3: Movin’ on up
Dear Diary,
I have walls! Actual walls! And a roof! I even have rooms!

It’s not much, but it’s more than I had before. I can even shower and use the bathroom during the day now! And it’s so nice to be able to eat at a counter instead of sitting on my bed. My bed is evenĀ in a completely different room. I’ve been wandering from room to room just because I can.

I painted up a storm to save up enough for even that much. With all the practice, I managed to put out masterpiece after masterpiece after masterpiece. It was nice, and lucrative, but I still haven’t found that missing something. That inspiration, the muse that raises an artist to the greatest of heights. As popular as my work is in quaint towns like Willow Creek and Oasis Springs, I can’t help but feel that it’s…derivative.
Honestly, I’m a bit bored by it all. It’s hard to say when I’m finally edging into financial security, but I’m barely interested in my easel these days.
I don’t know. Maybe I just need a break. Something new. I’ve barely left my house (an actual house!) since building it. I barely left the lot even before it was built. Maybe there’s something to this “socialisation” thing people talk about. It’s worth a try, at any rate. What I’ve been doing clearly isn’t working. I need to break out of this rut if I’m going to create anything worthy of real, long-term praise.
